The third PTE Speaking task is describe image, and it looks like this
For a full breakdown of this task and the methods involved check out the description beneath this video
For now let me give you a few key tips
Tip 1: Use the preparation time effectively
You are given 25 seconds to prepare to describe the graph
You need to learn [how] to use this time as effectively as possible
The best thing to do is focus on the key features of the graph
Quickly scan read the title and the x-Axis so you know what the graphic is about
But then you should spend the rest of the time considering your sentence structures
You probably know that in English a sentence is [subject-verb-object]
In Describe Image in the preparation time you need to decide
what will be your sentence subject. If you know what the subject of your sentence is you can then create
sentences without um (ing) and ah (ing) or hesitating and looking for words.
you don't get points for complexity
The key to a high score for describe image is mentioning the key features of the graph,
but doing it in such away that you don't um are or ah or hesitate
Don't make it hard for yourself.
